Mdm. Isnazunita Binti Ismail is a distinguished environmental technology leader with over 27 years of experience driving innovation at the intersection of sustainability, industrial transformation, and environmental science at SIRIM Berhad. She currently leads the Energy & Environment Centre under SIRIM Industrial Research, where she shapes national efforts in environmental sustainability, resource efficiency, renewable energy transition, and industrial decarbonisation. Her work sits at the core of Malaysia’s climate and sustainability agenda, translating science and technology into practical solutions that support industries in moving towards a low-carbon and resource-efficient future.
Throughout her career, she has been at the forefront of designing and implementing high-impact sustainability solutions that connect policy, industry, and innovation. Her leadership includes a pioneering pilot initiative on Eco-Industrial Park transformation through digitalisation and technology integration, enabling industrial symbiosis and smarter resource use, as well as active involvement in Malaysia’s National Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) agenda supporting long-term decarbonisation pathways. Internationally, she has contributed to the GIZ CAPSEA Project in developing Malaysia’s Ecodesign framework and has worked on EU-funded industrial environmental research, alongside strategic collaborations with UNEP, Fraunhofer, and ASEIC Korea. Her expertise extends into carbon and water footprint methodologies, ESG-aligned environmental frameworks, and renewable energy innovations including biomethane, biohydrogen, and biomass valorisation, positioning her as a key voice in advancing Quality Infrastructure for a more sustainable, resilient, and climate-ready industrial future.
