Michael Browne is CEO and Founding Partner of Crowdhelix, a UK- and Ireland-based open innovation platform connecting leading researchers, innovators, and companies to develop and deliver large-scale collaborative projects. His work focuses on driving international research and innovation partnerships, business growth, AI adoption, and the development of Crowdhelix as a sector-leading global innovation network.

Prior to Crowdhelix, Michael spent 15 years as Head of European Research & Innovation at University College London (UCL), one of the world’s leading research-intensive universities and a top-performing institution under the Horizon 2020 programme. With extensive experience at the intersection of research, industry, and innovation, he brings deep expertise in building international collaboration ecosystems and translating research excellence into real-world impact.
