Santiago Echavarria

Production Engineer with a master’s in business administration, and Specialist in Systematic
Production. Santiago has more than 30 years of professional experience across the private
sector in Colombia, Spain, and Germany. He has served on the boards of private companies
and organizations within the Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) ecosystem, and has
worked as a consultant on innovation and business productivity in Colombia and Ecuador. He
has also participated in international study and technology missions in the United States,
Europe, and Japan, and has taught at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
He has been affiliated with the Centro de Ciencia y Tecnología de Antioquia (CTA) for more
than 25 years, where he has designed, promoted, and directed numerous science,
technology, and innovation programs and projects in the fields of education, environment,
and competitiveness. He has contributed to the development of productivity measurement
methodologies, including Monitor and Measurement through Indicators for High Productivity,
and is co-author of several publications on productivity and competitiveness.
