Circular Economy as an SDG Accelerator – Circular Economy Pathways and Implementation Cases

This session explores how circular economy approaches can move climate action beyond emissions reduction towards more resilient, resource-secure, and regenerative economic systems. It examines how circular design, resource efficiency, product life extension, reuse and repair, industrial symbiosis, regenerative approaches, and resource recovery can reduce dependence on virgin resources, strengthen value chains, and enhance resilience to climate and supply-chain disruptions.

Positioning the Circular Economy as a strategic climate and economic agenda, rather than solely a waste or environmental approach, the session will explore how research, technology, innovation, and cross-sector collaboration can translate circular opportunities into practical solutions.

Building on this perspective, participants will identify key resource and climate challenges across sectors and value chains and explore opportunities for collaborative, scalable project concepts. The session aims to move from ideas to impact by connecting circular economy innovation with implementation pathways, partnerships, and opportunities for real-world climate action
